Dear Prospective Student:
Our school was developed to combine various modalities and techniques. Several massage styles, complement our acupressure focus. A historical study of healing, from Shamanism to Buddhism and Zen theories are included in our advanced programming. Students can graduate from a 150 hour basic technician program in less then five months part time and be ready to work. Others can stay on to review as often as needed or wanted, as subjects change and expand and questions redirect healing topics of focus. Classes are small to provide apprenticeship style training. Requirements include case work, projects, written and practical exams, clinic participation, 90% class attendance, 90% success on all exams and paperwork, student insurance, and active class participation.

Classes begin fall of each year. Summer programs are announced the first of May each year. Animal Massage, Shazen Yoga teacher training, are typical summer programs. This year we may run workshops on esoteric topics for graduates to enhance their private practice. There is no credentialing for some of our workshops, but nurses are welcome to explore having us meet their CEU requirements for licensure! Others who have massage certificates may be interested in our advanced topics as adjuncts to their current practice. Call our staff in May to see what's being offered!

Credentialing is a hot topic in the field of healers, but I have always stood behind the idea that the public needs to be assured that professionals of alternative health are diversified in theory as well as ethics, and are held accountable for their conductivity as they provide service to community members. Schools and teachers are not the same. And after almost 30 years in the field of alternative health as a client and professional both, I can tell you that knowing the background of a provider is essential. Even a weekend workshop held by a non- professional can really be harmful to participants who don't know what to expect! Standards don't divide us. They include us, and help us to network into other modalities who view professionalism as a criteria for practice.

Each year it is exciting to meet people who are practicing successful self help due to our student clinics. They are managing symptoms and emotions more efficiently, and life is becoming more and more positive as they practice home care. We help people work along side their doctor or therapist, to manage symptoms of stress and muscular tension. For more information about my school, check out my book, "Acupressure for Emotional Healing". My co-author and I take you step by step through using acupressure for self help. This book is why I started my school! I love acupressure. It literally saved my life. I hope you enjoy it!
